Father’s Day at West Lancashire Crematorium

Westerleigh Group’s West Lancashire Cemetery & Crematorium is inviting families to visit and commemorate the lives of their fathers and father figures.

The site is hosting Father’s Day Moment of Reflection events from Monday 13 June to Friday 17 June, between 9am and 5pm.

Visitors will have an opportunity to write a personal message or a favourite saying on one of several blackboards. Children can draw a picture if they wish, in memory of their loved one.

The blackboard will be displayed in the waiting room.

Additionally, on Thursday 16 June, the site is hosting a Father’s Day Service of Remembrance at 6pm. This service will give families another opportunity to commemorate and celebrate lives of their fathers or father figures in a peaceful setting of the crematorium’s chapel.

During the service, visitors will be able to write a personal message of remembrance, too.

For those who would prefer not to visit the site in person, or are unable to, the service is also being made available online.

It can be accessed live by visiting https://watch.obitus.com and inputting the username pixe0766 and password 375371.

West Lancashire Cemetery & Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, the UK’s largest owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 37 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, tranquil places for people to visit and reflect.

Site Manager Laura Linnane said: “Father’s Day can be a particularly poignant time for those who have lost their father or father figure.

“Every year, we welcome many families to our grounds who come to lay flowers and commemorate their loved ones around Father’s Day.

“We hope that families will find comfort in their visit to us again this year.”

For those who wish to have some quiet reflection on Father’s Day itself, the picturesque, peaceful grounds of West Lancashire Crematorium will be open as usual on Sunday 19 June.
